Steve the Unwilling Napper...by Mia Lowry

In honor of Steve's birthday, which is today. I decided to post a story Mom told me about him in his childhood.

Steve did not like to take naps. Mom never rested much because of his "allergy" to naps. Instead he would go around reeking havoc in the house. Here is one of the things he would do.....

Mom always had a dozen of homemade tortilla at every meal. One day she decided to make the dinner tortillas early. She put them up high on the self where the children would not be able to see it, let alone get at it. She put everyone down to nap and took one herself.

When she woke up she began to start dinner. It was getting late and Dad would be home soon. She got the tortillas from the selfto re-heat them for dinner. She opened the container to find someone had pick up the entire dozen of tortillas like a sandwich and took many bites. The entire outer edge of the tortillas had little bite marks on it. Steve! Steve had gotten to the tortillas and ruined all of them. Poor Mom! She had to remake the entire dozen of tortillas.

Of course, at the time it was maddening, but now she laughs when she tells of his mischievousness.
